Western Research Institute Contribution to the science/profession: Developed patented on-column precipitation and re-dissolution separation technique, and many new analysis methods, including test kits and new ASTM International methods for field monitoring fuel spills and halogenated solvent contamination. Contribution to the ACS community: Initiated annual heavy oil symposia at National Meetings for 16 years, which is now an international symposium series in the Division of Energy and Fuels.
